The gateway to a clean energy future

The gateway to a clean energy future

Security: A more efficient grid that is more resistant to disruptions

Environment: Decreased carbon dioxide emissions from a greater use of clean electricity

Economy: Increase in the economic value of wind and solar power and strengthen U.S. competitiveness in the clean energy race

With the declining cost of energy storage technology, batteries are becoming an increasingly popular addition to Wind & Solar development. Utility-scale battery storage is increasingly playing a major role in the operation of the electric grid, providing cost savings, environmental benefits and a new flexibility to the grid. In today’s current market they are even considered a mandatory part of a wind and solar plant.

Storage helps smooth the power supply, enabling electricity to flow from a project even when the sun isn't shining or the wind isn't blowing.

Battery storage provides a way to keep the grid stable, allowing an instant balance between supply and demand. Storage also is poised to replace conventional energy generation during peak demands, eliminating the need for additional plants, but limitations hamper the use of batteries.
